A travel through pictures: Japan part two
Our second stop in Japan was Kyoto. Kyoto is much smaller than Tokyo but it was beautiful. It is one of the best places in the world to see cherry blossoms. It also has many temples and a very pretty old town.

When we first arrived at Kyoto, we stayed in a special hotel called a Ryokan, which is a traditional Japanese hotel. All of the chairs were on the ground, and so were the beds! There was a wooden tub and we stayed in the old town that was very beautiful.

Fushimi Inari- when we went to Fushimi Inari shrine, I took 506 pictures because there were so many torii gates. The gates were red, made out of wood , or gray, made out of stone and there were 10,000 of them. We walked through big torii gates on a path for 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) for about 2 hrs. There were 12,000 steps!

Kyoto is famous for Geishas, they are traditional Japanese artists, They wear pretty Japanese dresses and beautiful flowers in their hair. While walking in the old town my mom had seen a stuffy of a Geisha that she really liked. She wanted to get it for me, so we searched the town, but she could not find it again. We went to other places that might have it with no luck. On the last day, we went searching the village again. Afte searching for 1 hour and 30 minutes, my mom finally told us to give up, we would get some other thing. While we were getting the other thing, my mom found it! I think she wanted it more than me, but she gave it to me. We named it "Mochi".

When we went to Japan, there was soft serve EVERYWHERE! Vanilla and matcha were the most common flavors. Also, when we were in Kyoto, we found a candy shop that had candy that looked like sushi and flowers! They also had cookies. We bought many sweets and candies at this shop. Only when we were boarding the plane to come back home, we realized we forgot our candies at a shop!
Overall both Tokyo and Kyoto were amazing and I was sad to leave. We may have lost our candies but I still have Mochi and hundreds of photos.
