A travel through pictures: Japan- Part One
I wanted to go to Tokyo because I'm a big-city girl and Tokyo is the largest city in the world! It is the capital of Japan and over 14 million people live there. Also, Tokyo is filled with cute trinkets which I like, and I heard that Tokyo has great food. So, last spring, I convinced my family to go to Tokyo.
On my trip to Tokyo, I took lots of pictures, so let's travel to Tokyo together through my pictures!

Monsters of Tokyo
On our first night in Tokyo, we walked over to Shinjuku, which is like Times Square, but bigger. I saw a Godzilla statue poking out of nowhere on top of a tall hotel building, and minutes later I saw a King Kong on top of a store. They were both gigantic. There was also a huge sculpture of a spider, called Maman, in Roppongi Hills neighborhood.

The next day, we went to a beautiful temple called Meiji Jingu Shrine, and for the first time, I saw a torii gate. A torii gate looks like the picture above. I later found out that there is an emoji for it: ⛩️!
A torii gate is generally displayed at the entrance of a Shinto Shrine.

Yummy Food of Tokyo
Tokyo had some great food to eat and even though I am a vegetarian and I couldn't eat most of the sushi, there was some great non-sushi food to eat like tornado potatoes (top left), giant cotton candy (top right), and ice cream rolls (bottom left). I managed to eat all this on just one street, Takeshita Street, which also had many shops filled with cute trinkets. I also had some great ramen and one day my family tricked me into eating some meat! It tasted amazing and now I have resolved to not get mad when my family tricks me into trying meat, as long as it tastes good and is in small quantities.

TeamLab
One of my favorite places in Tokyo was TeamLab Planet, a sensory and immersive museum. The first exhibit we experienced was called "black hole" (top left) and every time you were stable for some time, you lost your balance and fell down onto soft, squishy ground. Next, we went to the light maze (bottom left and bottom middle) with long lights that changed color. Then we went to a room with balls of all sizes (middle left and top right) and took lots of pictures. Then, we went to a room with water that went up to our ankles, a projector that projected an image of koi fish swimming, and some squishy things that felt like seaweed that made us feel like we were in a koi pond. Lastly, we went into a room with lots of flowers and mirrors where we took lots of pictures. Overall, the experience was amazing!

Shibuya Crossing is the world's busiest pedestrian crossing and more than 3000 people cross at a time! When we went to the Shibuya crossing, we took lots of pictures and videos, and walked across multiple times just because it was fun! Later, we had a snack at the Starbucks at the edge of the crossing and watched people go across, and then took even more pictures.
